Serendipity
Serendipity [ ser-uh n-dip-i-tee ] noun: an aptitude for making desirable discoveries by accident; good fortune; luck
As I make my way through the decades, serendipity has meant different things. When I was in boarding school, Serendipity was riding the commuter train into the New York City for Frrrozen Hot Chocolate. In college, it was bumping into friends and winding our way through a memorable evening.
Today, serendipity is everywhere. Chance encounters turn into opportunities, and a few fateful meetings have converted to work. It illustrates that getting what you want means getting out there (in person – initiating conversations, meeting new people, and touching base with your network.)
It’s a new year and a new decade. Make a resolution to participate in your community. You never know where serendipity will lead.
